Jim Gerhart, President of Advantage Homes, has a keen eye for value and a simple philosophy: Build homes that rise above the mediocrity of the big production builders. Personal integrity, attention to detail and day-to-day oversight of all phases of construction insure that buyers get a fair deal and a high-quality home.

"Buying a home is one of life's major events," says Mr. Gerhart. "Buyers spend a lot of money and emotion on a home, and they don't need any extra stress and uncertainty."

"And they are our livelihood, so we don't take their concerns lightly."

Helping Mr. Gerhart maintain those high standards is Jim Melton, an experienced homebuilder who shares in Jim's building philosophy and high standards. A builder since the mid-1970s, Jim Melton oversees daily operations and can be found at every Advantage Homes project almost every day.

"My job is to make sure everything is done right," says Mr. Melton. "If it's not right, we make it right. 'That's good enough' is no excuse for poor quality. I hire workers who show personal pride and want to get it right just as much as we do. Nothing less will do."
